Your orientation model determines the footprint.
Institutions do not all operate orientation the same way, and VZOS® does not require them to.
Some institutions may use VZOS® across multiple orientation responsibilities. Others may need the platform to own a focused part of the operation while existing campus systems continue doing what they appropriately own.
The question is not how much of VZOS your institution can use. It is what VZOS should appropriately own within your orientation model.

Orientation may involve different programs, populations, timelines, departments, systems, and institutional responsibilities.
Before determining where technology fits, it helps to understand how those pieces come together at your institution.
VZOS® is designed to support the orientation model the institution has intentionally created rather than requiring the institution to adopt a predefined operating model.
VARIABLE PLATFORM FOOTPRINT
VZOS® does not have to own everything to be valuable.
An institution may use VZOS® for registration and reservations. Another may need preparation, personalized scheduling, check-in, or participation tracking. Another may use the platform across several connected responsibilities.
Those are not lesser or greater versions of VZOS®.
The appropriate footprint is the one that reflects what the institution needs the platform to own.
APPROPRIATE SYSTEM OWNERSHIP
The right system should own the right responsibility.
Orientation operates within a larger institutional technology environment.
Student information may originate in an SIS. Recruitment and communications may live in a CRM. Learning activities may belong in an LMS. Payments, advising, reporting, or other responsibilities may appropriately remain elsewhere.
VZOS® does not need to replace those systems simply because they participate in the orientation operation.
The goal is to determine where VZOS should own the orientation work and where it should work alongside the systems your institution already relies on.
CONNECTED WHERE IT MATTERS
Different systems can still support one orientation operation.
Using more than one campus system does not necessarily mean the orientation experience has to become disconnected.
Where responsibilities cross systems, VZOS® can participate within the institution’s technology environment so the orientation work it owns remains connected to the information and processes around it.
